Financing for educational services
An education business grows on reputation and classroom capacity. We help you explore capital to grow or financing to buy the building where you welcome students.
GROW™ — capital for your next stage
GROW™: up to $350,000, up to 10-year terms, no prepayment penalty and no specific personal collateral required.
What owners typically invest in
- Classroom furniture and equipment
- Learning technology and labs
- Expanding space or adding classrooms
- Hiring teachers and staff
- Marketing for enrollment
OWN™ — buy the building where you operate
Families choose a campus for its location and its feel. Adapting classrooms, restrooms, safety features and common areas costs money, and that investment stays with the building when you rent. Ownership secures the place students already know and steadies your cost per school year.
What lenders typically review
Lenders usually review how long the business has operated, its cash flow, the owners’ credit and enrollment and how it behaves by term. For GROW™, reference guidelines include three or more years in operation, a personal FICO of 650 or above, a minimum SBSS score of 165, personal and business debts current, repayment capacity with a minimum DSCR of 1.25x and no bankruptcy in the last seven years. GROW™ does not require specific personal collateral, though limited business collateral requirements may apply. To buy the property through OWN™, your business must occupy most of the building.
Frequently asked questions
Does term-based income affect the review?
The lender evaluates the full year and your repayment capacity, not one isolated month. We present several periods to show the pattern.
Can I finance buying the campus?
In many cases, yes, if your institution occupies most of the property, with amounts up to $5 million or more under OWN\u2122.
Can capital pay for classroom remodeling?
Yes. Leasehold improvements are a common use, subject to lender approval.
Which reference guidelines apply?
Three or more years in operation, personal FICO of 650 or above, SBSS of at least 165, current debts and a minimum 1.25x DSCR.
